Ma Pau FC will kick-off its season in the 2010 Digicel Trinidad and Tobago Pro League in the feature match of a double-header against reigning champion team, bmobile Joe Public at the Hasely Crawford Stadium, Mucurapo at 8 pm.

It is a highly anticipated clash of the night's programme. The first match brings together former champions San Juan Jabloteh and W Connection in the 11-club league.

The other clubs in this year’s league include Defence Force, Police, Tobago United, St Ann’s Rangers, FC South End, Caledonia AIA and North East Stars, who are making a return after a year’s absence.

Last season, Joe Public and Ma Pau met five times with the latter  coming out on top four games to one.

However, during the off-season, the three-year-old Ma Pau club under the guidance of former Joe Public coach, Michael Mc Comie and his assistant  Angus Eve managed to attract three members of Joe Public’s winning team to its camp.

Defensive duo Seon Powers and Keyeno Thomas as well as Colombian goalkeeper, Alejandro Figueroa were all key members of the Joe Public dominant team but are now members of the Ma Pau team dubbed the ‘Casino Boys” line-up.

Dexter Skeene, chief executive officer of the T&T Pro League made the announcement of Friday's double-header at the launch of this year’s season at Digicel Box, Queen’s Park Oval, St Clair on Wednesday.

On Saturday, in another double-header at the Hasely Crawford Stadium, Mucurapo, First Citizens Cup winners, Defence Force and Police will face off in a battle of the “Protective Services” from 5pm to be followed by Caledonia AIA and St Ann’s Rangers at 7pm.

In the other round one match, FC South End will host North East Stars, who are making a return to the league after a one-year absence at the Mannie Ramjohn Stadium, Marabella from 5pm.
