Coach Mc Commie - We achieve our goals against Under-23 squad

MICHAEL MC COMMIE, the headcoach of Ma Pau FC Pro League outfit team told Ma Pau Sports.com that he's fully satisfied with the result of the match after his team drew 1-1 with the National Under-23 Olympic squad at the Larry Gomes Stadium, Arima on Tuesday aftrnoon.

Mc Commie explained: "The match gave us an opportunity for our players to get familar with the team's 4-4-3 system and employed other strategies during the match. It also gave our players an opportunity to play together as a team for the second time in two matches in four days. The intensity level with in our team is very good"

Kevin Molino scored for Ma Pau in the 18th minute which allowed his team to enjoy a 1-0 lead at half-time. However, the National Under-23 squad equalized midway through the second half with a Daniel Cyrus penalty.

McCommie said theĀ  match was his team's final warm-up before Friday's opening campaign in the 2010 T&T Digicel Pro League which will kick-off at the Hasely Crawford Stadium, Mucurapo from 8 p.m.

Ma Pau will play host the 2009 league champions Joe Public.

On Saturday Ma Pau defeated the Clint Marcelle Football Academy 7-0 with goals from Lester Peltier, Trevin Caesar, who notched a double, C. Thomas, Seon Powers, Shandell Samuel and Aquil Selby.

So far, the coaching saff seems impressed with its new signings which includes Peltier, Elton John, Devon Jamerson, Joel Russell, Powers, the experience duo of defenders Keyeno Thomas and Cyd Gray and Shane Calderon.
