MIDFIELDER Kerron Hernandez of Caledonia AIA fired home a 78th minute low right-foot shot that halted Ma Pau its first defeat in the T&T Pro League Under-18 Division at St Anthony’s Schools Ground, Westmooring on Sunday afternoon.
While the sun was not out in all its glory, the humid afternoon heat got the better of the players who were seen hitting the ground from exhaustion. However, it was Caledonia troops that looked more determined as the launched attack after attack on Ma Pau’s goal until the deadlock was broken in the 78th minute.
Ma Pau playing to at least salvage a share of the points came close to the equalizer two from free-kicks and once from a corner, but on each occasion their attempts were off target.
Joe Public and W Connection are joint leaders with 13 points while Ma Pau follows with 12 after six matches.

Caledonia outplays Ma Pau 10-0
In the Under-14 division, Clinton Bowen hat-trick guided Caledonia AIA to a comfortable 10-0 win over the young and experience Ma Pau outfit. Assistant coach Angus Eve said: “Our Under-14 and 16 are playing for experience and to learn how to enjoy the game. We just want them to come out and play and have fun.”
Jabloteh has maximum points (18 points) from its six matches, five ahead of second placed Caledonia AIA.

However, Ma Pau’s Under-16 squad playing the middle game of the triple-header got two second half goals from Kiel Pierre and Kyle Celestine to turned back Caledonia 2-1.
Jabloteh also maintained a slim lead in the Under-16 age-group after a
similar 2-0 shutout of Rangers thanks to a goal each from Joshua Perreira in the 23rd minute and Jamil Young in the 76th minute.
With the win, Jabloteh Under-16’s improved to 13 points after five matches, one more than bmobile Joe Public who blanked Defence Force 2-0.
